WHY QUEBEC FAMILIES TRUST US
The Numbers Behind 20 Years of Excellence
Our results speak for themselves — measurable, verifiable, and consistent year after year.

OUR EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
What Drives Our Approach to Teaching
College HC was built on a simple belief: every child has untapped potential, and the right teacher at the right time can change a student’s entire academic trajectory. We don’t believe in shortcuts, generic methods, or one-size-fits-all programs.
Our approach is built around four principles that guide everything we do — from how we design our curriculum to how we work with each family.
Specialization Over Generalization
Every program is built around a specific academic moment — not generic tutoring. Deep expertise beats broad coverage.
System Insider Knowledge
We know Quebec’s school admissions, ministerial exams, and CEGEP pathways from the inside — because we’ve worked within them for years.
Above School-Level Rigor
Our materials are intentionally designed to exceed standard school difficulty. Students grow only when challenged at the right level.
Long-Term Partnership
We don’t just prepare for one exam. We support families through full academic journeys — from primary years to CEGEP admission.

REAL STUDENTS, REAL RESULTS
Stories From Our College HC Family
Behind every percentage point and admission letter is a real student and a real journey. Here are a few of theirs.
From a 75% Average to Quebec’s Top CEGEP
“After 18 months with College HC, our daughter not only secured admission to Marianopolis, but earned offers from 4 of her top 5 choices. The diagnostic system pinpointed exactly what she needed to work on — no wasted hours.”
Yuqi
From “Maybe” to Multiple Top School Offers
“We started in Grade 5 with average grades and lots of doubts. By the end of Grade 6, our son had received admission offers from Brébeuf, Jean-Eudes, and JDLM — all three of his top picks. The summer camp made the difference.”
Lyndon
From Welcome Class to a Top English CEGEP
“When we arrived in Quebec, our daughter spoke almost no French. Five years later, she graduated from a French secondary school and was admitted to John Abbott. We owe so much of that journey to College HC.”

COMMON QUESTIONS
What Quebec Families Ask Us Most
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. Don’t see yours? Just reach out.
How do I know which course is right for my child?
Start with a precis 15-minute consultation. We’ll discuss your child’s grade, current performance, and goals — then recommend the right starting point. If a diagnostic test is helpful, we can arrange one before any commitment.
Are classes online or in-person?
Both. Most programs offer in-person classes at our Saint-Laurent center (1325 Rue Cartier) and online classes via Zoom with the same level of structure and engagement. Many families choose a mix depending on the season and their schedule.
Do you teach in French or English?
Both. We support students attending both French and English school systems in Quebec. Our French courses are taught in French; our English courses in English. Our admissions and placement programs prepare students for both school systems.
Can I switch between group classes and private tutoring?
Absolutely. Many families combine both — group classes for steady weekly progress, private tutoring for targeted support before exams or for specific weak areas. We’ll help you decide what fits each stage of your child’s journey.
When should we start preparing for Sec 1 admissions?
The earlier the better. Many of our most successful students start in Grade 4 with a summer pre-admissions camp, then continue year-round through Grade 5 and 6. Starting earlier means more depth, less stress, and more confidence walking into the exam.
How small are your group classes?
Group classes are kept small intentionally — typically around 10 students per group, organized by grade and proficiency level rather than just school year. This keeps every student engaged and ensures personal attention from the teacher.
How is the material different from school?
We design our own curriculum in-house, intentionally pitched one to two grade levels above standard school content. Students who come from regular schools experience our camps as genuinely challenging — and grow as a result.
Will my child be placed in the right level class?
Our programs cover Grades 3 through Secondary 4, with our flagship offerings centered on the Grade 5 → Sec 1 admissions journey. Younger and older students each have programs tailored to their stage.
