The Final Gateway Before CEGEP
Specialized preparation for Quebec’s MEES ministerial examinations — Sec 4 Math, Science, and History, plus Sec 5 French and English. Built on the highest curriculum streams (SN, ST, STE), taught by educators who have administered and graded the exams themselves.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Exams That Decide Your CEGEP Future
In Quebec, Sec 4 and Sec 5 ministerial exams are not just any tests. They are administered identically across the entire province — every student writes the same paper at the same time, marked against the same provincial standards. There’s no school-by-school grade inflation here.
And the stakes are real: these exams count for 50% of the final grade in each subject they cover. A student with strong school marks can still see their final R-score affected by a weak ministerial exam — which directly shapes which CEGEP, which program, and ultimately which university they can enter.
50%
The Weight of Every Ministerial Exam
Each Sec 4 and Sec 5 ministerial exam counts for 50% of the student’s final mark in that subject. The other 50% comes from year-long school evaluation. This is the moment grade-year work meets provincial scrutiny — and where focused preparation makes the largest possible difference.
Five Ministerial Exams, Five Targeted Programs
Each ministerial exam has its own structure, format, and grading criteria. Generic tutoring won’t move the needle — what works is preparation built specifically around each exam’s actual demands. We teach all five at the highest curriculum stream.
Secondary 4 — Sec IV
Phase 1 – Three Ministerial Exams in Sec 4
Sec 4 History
Histoire du Québec et du Canada
The exam consists of 23 questions divided into three parts — multiple choice and short answers in Part A, a development question with diagram in Part B, and a 150-word analytical text in Part C.
Sec 4 Mathematics
Sciences naturelles (SN) — 565-420
We teach the most rigorous of the three Sec 4 math streams — Sciences naturelles (SN). Our preparation focuses on the three-part exam structure and the contextualized application problems that determine outcomes.
Sec 4 Science
Science et technologie (ST & STE)
We prepare students for the highest science streams — Science and Technology (ST) and Science and Technology of the Environment (STE). Both are required for science-track CEGEP admissions.
Secondary 5 — Sec V
Phase 2 – Two Language Ministerial Exams in Sec 5
Sec 5 French
Français, langue d’enseignement — Écriture (132-520)
The Sec 5 French writing exam is centrally marked by the Ministère — meaning every paper is graded against the same provincial standard, with no school-level moderation. The two-stage exam involves a preparatory dossier and the writing day (June).
Sec 5 English
English, Second Language — Regular & Enriched programs
Available in two streams (Core 634 and Enriched 635). Includes a preparatory activity and reading comprehension component, plus oral interaction and a written production component. We prepare students for the higher-tier Enriched program.
Year-Round Class Times
Regular weekly classes throughout the school year, scheduled to fit around standard school hours. Sec 4 Math at the highest stream, Sec 5 French and English available in subject-focused sessions.
French
Sec 5 French ministerial exam preparation, focused on argumentative essay writing, literary analysis, and mastery of centralized marking criteria.
Math SN
Sec 4 Math (SN) ministerial exam preparation, covering three-part mastery including contextualized application problems and algebraic reasoning.
English
Sec 5 English ministerial exam preparation, focused on reading comprehension, literary analysis, and essay writing, with practice in structured response formats and standardized evaluation rubrics.
Science ST/STE
Sec 4 Science (ST/STE) ministerial exam preparation, covering key concepts in physics, chemistry, biology, and technology, with hands-on problem-solving and practice with multi-step application questions.
History
Sec 4 History exam preparation, focused on chronological understanding, source analysis, argumentative writing, and mastery of key historical events and concepts for the ministerial assessment.
Taught by the People Who Know the Exam Best
Provincial exam prep at this level demands more than experienced tutors — it demands educators who have lived inside the system, marked the papers, and watched the patterns evolve year over year.
Veteran Provincial Exam Teachers
Our instructors are veteran teachers who have taught Sec 4 and Sec 5 provincial exam classes for years — not generalists who occasionally tutor. Provincial exam prep is what they do, season after season.
Provincial Exam Invigilators & Markers
Several of our teachers have invigilated and graded ministerial exams for the MEES. They’ve sat in the marking rooms — they know exactly what earns marks, what loses them, and what examiners reward.
Complete Past-Paper Archive
We’ve assembled and analyzed every Sec 4 and Sec 5 ministerial exam from recent years. Students don’t just see practice questions — they see the full evolution of how each exam has been built, year by year.
High-Fidelity Mock Exams
Our mock exams are calibrated to mirror the actual ministerial exams in difficulty, structure, and timing. Students walk into the real exam having already performed under the same conditions multiple times.
Highest Curriculum Streams Only
We teach Math at the SN level (Sciences naturelles), Science at ST and STE — the most rigorous streams, the ones required for science-track CEGEP admissions. Our students are prepared for the toughest version of each exam.
Track Record at Top CEGEPs
Word of mouth carries us. Year after year, our students earn admission to Quebec’s most selective CEGEPs — including Marianopolis, John Abbott, LCC, and other top-tier institutions. Our reputation is built one student at a time.
Top CEGEPs & Pre-University Schools
Our Sec 4 and Sec 5 students go on to Quebec’s most competitive CEGEPs and pre-university programs — schools where ministerial exam scores directly determine admissions.
Provincial Exam Prep Runs Year-Round
Our Sec 4 and Sec 5 provincial exam program runs through every season of the school year — from regular weekly classes to intensive holiday camps designed for full-immersion preparation.
Year-Round Weekly COURSE
Friday French, Wednesday Math, Saturday English — steady weekly progress through the school year.
Christmas Winter Camp
Two weeks over Christmas to prepare for the January Sec 4 Math and Sec 5 French sessions.
Summer Camp – PROVINCIAL EXAM PREP
9-week intensive program — the longest seasonal preparation runway for the next exam cycle.
Spring Break Camp
One-week intensive sprint right before the June ministerial exam window — final preparation.
Group Classes or Private Tutoring — Choose What Fits
Every family’s situation is different. We offer two complementary formats that can be combined — group classes provide structured learning and peer momentum, while private tutoring delivers fully customized support around each student’s specific goals and timeline.
Group Classes
Weekly group sessions throughout the school year, plus intensive holiday camps. Small-group teaching ensures every student gets personalized attention while benefiting from peer learning.
Private Tutoring
Fully personalized one-on-one sessions, scheduled around each student’s needs and pace. Ideal for tight timelines, specific weak points, or families who prefer individual attention.
