Quebec English School CAT & Entrance Exam List
A clear guide to schools using the shared Grade 7 Common Admissions Test—and schools such as Royal West that use a different, school-specific entrance examination.
Important distinction: Royal West has an entrance exam, but it is not the four-school shared CAT. Royal West currently tests English, French and Mathematics in person.
Shared Common Admissions Test
The four currently verified CAT partner schools
| School | Entry | Assessment | What it covers | Preparation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Canada College | Grade 7 | Shared online CAT | Ability/logic, English reading comprehension and learning attitudes | CAT track |
| St. George’s School of Montreal | Grade 7 | Shared online CAT | Ability/logic, English reading comprehension and learning attitudes | CAT track |
| JPPS-Bialik High School | Grade 7 | Shared online CAT | Ability/logic, English reading comprehension and learning attitudes | CAT track |
| Miss Edgar’s & Miss Cramp’s School | Grade 7 | Shared online CAT | Ability/logic, English reading comprehension and learning attitudes | CAT track |
One shared CAT sitting can send results to several partner schools, but a separate application is still required for every school. Current descriptions say the shared CAT does not contain a mathematics-specific or French-specific section.
