AMC Mathematics Competition
The AMC is an annual mathematics competition for secondary school students organized by the Mathematical Association of America. It is divided into three levels: AMC 8, AMC 10 and AMC 12, suitable for Grade 8 and below, Grade 10 and below, and Grade 12 students respectively.
The exam covers secondary math topics including combinatorics, probability, proportional reasoning, geometry, spatial logic, graph analysis, linear & quadratic functions and coordinate algebra.
It contains 25 multiple-choice questions with a 75-minute time limit. Designed to enhance critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities, AMC helps students build logical reasoning and positive learning attitudes for future STEM studies.
The test is officially available in English. Outstanding results qualify students for higher-level national Olympiads and bring significant advantages to university STEM applications and scholarship evaluations.
COMC Mathematics Competition
The COMC is Canada’s premier national mathematics competition held by CMS, open to Secondary 2 to CEGEP students. It covers advanced algebra, geometry and proof-based problem-solving.
It contains 18 questions worth 80 total marks with different difficulty levels. Designed to enhance logical reasoning and rigorous mathematical thinking, COMC serves as the official qualification for the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad.
The test is officially available in both English and French. Outstanding scores bring remarkable advantages to university STEM admissions and scholarship applications.
